About the 2026 forecast
Japan Meteorological Corporation’s first forecast, released September 2, covers around 700 viewing locations. Warmer conditions are expected to make many city peaks normal to somewhat later than average. Maple and ginkgo can peak on different dates in the same city.
- Forecast dates describe representative sample trees, not every park or neighborhood.
- Mountains and northern regions change earlier than lowland cities.
- Weather can move the timing, so check the latest JMC forecast before departure.
